However, here is some enlightenment on the two different coffees that are being made these days. The Percolator coffee and the Drip coffee.

# Percolator Coffee

The Percolator Coffee is basically a traditional form of coffee prepared on the stove in a specifically shaped pot. Here the coffee grounds are placed in the basket made of metal. And this basket is placed inside the pot.

There is also a hollow tube of metal inserted inside the basket exactly at the middle of it.

This basket is surrounded by water inside the pot and the pot is placed on the stove to heat. And the pot is covered from the top.

As the water starts heating it is forced to rise up inside the tube. The water overflows from the tube and fall on the coffee ground placed in the basket. This is how the Percolator coffee made.

In the Percolator coffee, there is a deep flavor, stronger than the drip. However, this coffee is made using the metal basket that is used as the filter and not any disposable one.

Thus metal basket filters are reusable. The various different parts of this coffee maker can be washed and cleaned.

However, cleaning of drip coffee maker is a tough task and some parts are out of your reach as well. Moreover, in the Percolator coffee, the coffee is being processed completely through the metal apparatus whereas the drip coffee is processed through certain plastic parts as well.

# Drip Coffee

Drip coffee is a mild and delicious coffee. A drip coffee maker can make you a perfectly mild coffee that suits your taste.

However, unlike the percolator, the drip coffee is made by pouring water into the water tank and this water is used for brewing.

This water is heated inside the tank and is further sent to other parts. The coffee ground is placed inside the filter and kept at its place.

Now the hot water is being poured over the coffee ground to get the deepest extract from the coffee.

The coffee is extracted by drip process (which is a very gentle process) is collected in a carafe and is ready to be consumed.

Our Verdict

The Drip coffee gets ready faster as compared to the Percolator coffee. Furthermore, the drip coffee is free from the oil of the coffee as the machine removes it during the process. And this makes the coffee safe from depositing cholesterol in your body.

The filter used in Drip coffee makes it free from the small coffee ground granules due to ultra fine filtering. While in the Percolator coffee there are chances of some inclusion of smaller ground particles in the coffee.

And the Drip coffee is now so commonly preferred. Hence the coffee maker manufacturers are now offering an electronic version of the drip coffee maker.

This makes easy for all of us to have a great cup of Drip coffee instantly, easily and anywhere.

So it is clear who the winner is, right?!
