September 16, 2018 By Ryan A. Guess Leave a Comment

Each coffee tastes different and that is all because of the brewing style. There are many different types of coffee makers that brew you a different cup of coffee. And they all do that in a different and unique style.

However, here we are discussing the two best coffee makers, The French Press and The Drip Coffee Maker.

French Press or Drip Coffee Maker?

Basically when it comes to making a coffee choosing a coffee maker is the essential part of it.

However, choosing the best coffee maker that suits you depends on the type of coffee that you like to have all the time. Each one has a different taste and different desire. So first let’s know what we need.

French Press Coffee Maker

Some Important points to be considered in choosing the better Coffee Maker

#1   Really Quick

When it comes to a quick and the perfect brew, the drip coffee maker is the best and ideal solution. The drip coffee maker serves you a strong and hot cup of dark coffee within no time. Apparently, there are different methods though, manual and auto.

Drip Coffee Maker

In auto-drip coffee maker machines, the coffee is brewed automatically. And it tastes according to the coffee and water ratio that you added to the brewer.

Whereas, the French press is a sophisticated coffee maker that takes some time but eventually serves you a great cup of coffee as well.

French Press

#2 Clean Coffee Making

Don’t worry, both of them make clean coffees, it’s just that which one gets clean easily.

Drip Coffee Maker

The drip coffee maker machine makes the coffee deliver faster, being an automatic coffee maker but cleaning it takes time. The cleaning process of the drip coffee maker is longer and is a kind of task as compared to the French press.

While the French press is a user-friendly manual coffee maker machine. This thing can even be washed in the dishwasher that you have at your place. So it is user-friendly as well as dishwasher friendly.

French Press

#3 Portability

Drip Coffee Maker

The drip coffee maker is a power operated machine which is a downfall when it comes to portability. It is even larger in size as compared to the French press and it becomes very difficult to carry it for a campaign or an outing. Thus it is not a portable thing that you can roam around with.

However, the French press is just a jar or a pot with a great mechanism inside it, that allows you to press the coffee. Thus not being a large stuff it becomes very comfortable to take this coffee maker for the campaign. And hence it becomes a portable and easy to carry coffee making the machine.

#4 Attention on Brewing

Drip Coffee Maker

Oh yes! The drip coffee maker is an automatic brewing machine. Once you add some water and ground coffee you can just leave it to brew the coffee on its own. You just have to press a single button and all the work is done by the brewer.

Talking about the French press, here the coffee making is an art. And it is an art because here, you need to make coffee manually. However, making a coffee for oneself is a truly a satisfactory deed.

So, in the French press, you need to keep your head on the brewing of the coffee. While the auto-drip does that on its own.

#5 Brewing Process

Drip Coffee Maker

In the drip coffee make, the coarsely ground coffee is added into the filter. On the other hand, the water is added into the water tank. And as you turn on the brewing process, the water starts getting heated. Later the hot water enters the coffee ground at a slow and gentle speed.

The coffee is extracted drop by drop and fills up the port placed beneath.

While in the French press the coffee ground is more coarse than that used in drip coffee brewer. Or sometimes even coffee beans are used. Perhaps the brewing process takes longer in the French press.

However, the brewing process for both even differs in temperature of water and the brewing temperature. In the French press, the water used is hotter as compared to that used in drip coffee maker.

The Final Sentence

Whether it is a French Press or a Drip Coffee Maker, the coffee made from both are preferred by one or the other.

Final Sentence

So, none of the coffee maker wins when compared, as both vastly differ in all the aspects of coffee making. May it be brewing method or the flavor of coffee at the end.

So, they both have their distinct identity and one can choose either of them according to the his own taste. The taste of coffee making methodology as well as the taste of the coffee.
