Are you a coffee drinking champion and believe that there is no coffee that can satisfy your urge for caffeine and so now you’ve decided to get yourself nominated for the hall of fame? Perhaps, you haven’t tried the Ristretto Coffee yet! Have you?

What is a Ristretto?

what is a ristretto?A Ristretto is a concentrated coffee shot that contains intense taste for the caffeine hunger!

To prepare a Ristretto the barista performs the short pull. A short pull means that the coffee will be pulled more hastily than the espresso.

If you can relate to the speed of pulling for a shot of espresso, which almost lasts for about 25-30 seconds, it is known as the long pull. But with a short pull (of 10 to 15 seconds), you get less water in dissolved with the coffee but still the same amount of coffee grounds, which results in an intense tasting coffee.

This shot of Ristretto is quite intense yet surprisingly sweeter and rich in taste. It is richer and less bitter than a shot of espresso.

What are the Ingredients?

Well, to your surprise, Ristretto does not need any special ingredients for brewing. It simply requires everything that a shot of espresso does.

The only difference is that it needs almost half the water compared to an espresso shot. So indeed, it is an espresso-based drink.

However, it does serve as the base for a flat white coffee because of its rich and less bitter taste. And of course, you can use this drink as a base to many of your favorite coffee beverages.

So does it Contain More Caffeine?

No, of course not.

A shot os Ristretto is concentrated and come with a rich taste, richer than an espresso. But that is due to the fact that it uses less amount of water to dissolve the same amount of coffee ground as an espresso.

So eventually, the coffee tastes more concentrated with high caffeine content. Though the caffeine amount remains the same as the quantity of drink generated is low. But if you consider the caffeine content per ounce of the drink, surely, Ristretto can give you a more caffeine-rich coffee!

The EndNote

Ristretto is a caffeine-rich coffee for those who need something extra than a simple shot of espresso. It can serve as a base for most of the espresso-based drinks. So do try out with all the different coffee drinks that you can.

That’s all for now.

Cheers!
