Flat White Coffee – Winning Hearts WorldWide [SpecialStory]

August 11, 2018 By Ryan A. Guess Leave a Comment

When I first heard the name Flat White Coffee, it didn’t attract me much.

I thought it is just like any other coffee drink which we usually have at the Cafes, but I was wrong. Also, it was a rare cafe drink option at cafes, but now almost all the cafes are serving it for you.

So, what’s special about it? How did it get into light recently?

What is Flat White

The famous fast food company McDonald’s lately added the Flat White coffee on the list, and people are going gaga over it. They also released an ad supporting this, where they have shown how the customers are confused with the recipe.

I won’t ever say that any of the coffee recipes are easy, as only the practical experiments give you a better idea about it.

What is Flat White

This coffee type is made based out of an espresso shot, along with some microfoam on the top.

A bit similar to the Latte drink, but both of them vary in terms of the microfoam and the proportion of the coffee and milk used in the making. Even though the name is Flat White, it comes with a high Espresso flavor and is less in the milk solids.

That’s the point, don’t fall for the names. Next time you visit any cafe, ask them about the preparation and know the contents before you actually have it. Many times, this coffee has been related to the Latte Coffee drink. Though both of them differ a lot on the volume and the microfoam amount.

Comparing both the Latte and the Flat White, the consistency of the milk varies a lot in both of them. Latte comes with a creamy milk topping whose depth can change depending on where you bought it. Whereas in the Flat White, only a thin band of the milk is seen on the top.

For the preparation, milk is frothed in the same way as for the Cappuccino till a 20 mm of the microfoam is generated. This is the most crucial part of all. Here the coaxing of the cream to the top is the main thing which maintains the brown shade over the resulting beverage.

When we say the traditional or the authentic Flat White, then it does not include any kind of Latte art on it. Still, you can customize your drink, and make it the way you like.

Simple definition of Flat White- ‘Double shot of espresso topped with a steamy layer of milk which is slightly frothed’.

Hope the definition is clear now, and you are ready to explain it to anyone who doesn’t know it. There are so many flavors out there, but not all of them are approved by the users.

The expert team says, on comparing the Flat White with other coffee drinks like the Espresso & Cappuccino, the Flat White is a safest bet and more liked by all.

Also adding, “if you get the milk or the espresso measured wrong, then it could affect the whole Coffee drink. In that case, the Flat Whites are easier on the preparation and even the taste remains consistent at all times.”
